Lenses....where to begin?

If you're new to the whole Digital SLR thing and find all the talk about lenses baffling, have a look at this page Click Here, from the people who bring you Sigma lenses.

They're one of the very few who publish stuff like this. Among all the wonderfull details about their products, there's a series of images showing you the difference each focal length makes when taking a picture from the same spot. Page 22 I think.

If anyone would like some sort of tutorial about lenses/apertures etc.. Let me know and I'll see if I can put something together

Great link John. I'll put one of my images in my slideshow which is similar to the one on the second page of the brochure It was taken with a canon compact camera but it's still OK
