Skelmorlie Camera Club – Constitution
- The association shall be called the Skelmorlie Camera Club [hereinafter called 'The Club'].
- Membership will be open to anyone interested in photography.
- The aim of Skelmorlie Camera Club will be to encourage still photography in any aspect desired by the members. A major aim will be positive criticism.
- Regular exhibitions and competitions will be held to allow members to display their work. A sub-committee (which may be formed to arrange these events) will be responsible for arranging these events.
- Rules of the Club will be posted as agreed by General Meetings. Members will be obliged to obey these rules while in The Club's premises. Likewise, members acting in the name of The Club will be expected to behave in a fashion that will not be detrimental to The Club.
- The Committee will comprise – Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Competition Secretary, Syllabus Secretary, Exhibition Secretary and a Publicity Person. The term of office will be for three (3) years, but individuals can put themselves forward for re-election at the end of each term.
- The Committee will be responsible for the disciplining or expulsion of any members who fail to comply with the Rules or Constitution of The Club. There will be a right of appeal to a General Meeting.
- Subscriptions will be agreed and reviewed annually at the AGM.
- There will be an AGM towards the end of the syllabus season each year. The Committee or a quorum of The Club will have the right to call an Extraordinary General Meeting at any time. A quorum shall constitute one third of the membership of the Club.
- Should any sub-section or sections, be formed within The Club, they will abide by the above Constitution. Consent to form any such section must be agreed to by a General Meeting which will likewise be consulted in the formation of rules relevant to the section's aims.
- Any motion of change in The Club's Constitution must be posted at least one calendar month before any General or Extraordinary General Meeting. Any change in the Constitution must be agreed by two-thirds of the total membership.
